EQUIPMENT, FUNCTIONS AND ADDED VALUE OF COOKER HOODS

Extra comfort with cooker hoods thanks to modern functions

Cooker bonnets and other extractor solutions have different features and functions depending on the model. They make cooking even more convenient. But which features can increase the efficiency and performance of the cooker bonnet? And which functions make it easier to use? We'll tell you.

APPLIANCE OPERATION OF COOKER HOODS

Cooker bonnets can be operated in various ways.

Depending on the quality of the cooker bonnet, you switch the cooker bonnet on or off:

  • Switch lever
  • Touch control panel
  • Slider
  • Appliance
  • Hob
  • Remote control

Simple cooker bonnets are usually equipped with push buttons or control levers to set the desired power level or to switch the light on and off. Modern appliances are operated via a touch control panel, a slider or, even more conveniently, via an app on a mobile device or simply via the hob connected to the cooker bonnet. Ceiling fans and, in some cases, island bonnets are controlled using a remote control.

IMPORTANT: The best choice is always to operate the appliance with which you are most familiar.

POWER LEVELS AND FUNCTIONS FOR COOKER HOODS

Every cooker bonnet is equipped with a certain number of power levels. The spectrum ranges from simple cooker bonnets with only two power levels to cooker bonnets with individually adjustable extraction power. In addition, there are a number of practical functions that make using the cooker bonnet many times more convenient.

The following functions are included:

  • Intensive level with automatic reset - Boost function
  • Boost function
  • Automatic function via sensor
  • Tracking function
  • Saturation display

Intensive stage with automatic reset: If there is a lot of vapour, it is advisable to switch on the intensive stage. This ensures good extraction at full power. The intensive level with automatic reset automatically switches back to a lower power level after a certain time.

Boost function: The boost function can be started if the power of the appliance is to be increased for a short period of time. For a few seconds, the fumes are extracted at full power, then again at the previous power level.

Automatic mode: Extractor bonnets with automatic function regulate the extraction power sensor-controlled. So-called air quality sensors measure the saturation of the air with vapours. Depending on this, the optimum power levels are automatically activated.

Run-on function / fan run-on: If this function is activated after cooking, the cooker bonnet continues to run at the lowest level for a few minutes.

Saturation indicator: The saturation indicator uses flashing symbols to draw attention to when the metal grease filter or the activated charcoal filter of the cooker bonnet is saturated with grease and other solids.

ILLUMINATION OF COOKER HOODS

The type of lighting used in cooker bonnets also varies.

The following types of lighting are used in cooker bonnets:

  • LED spots
  • Light strip
  • Dimming function
  • Effect lighting

With the dimming function, you can easily regulate the light intensity of your cooker bonnet. For lovers of coloured light, the effect lighting is ideal. Use this function to illuminate your hob in all RGB colours. You must decide for yourself which light function you like best. What is and remains important is optimal hob illumination.
